TEACHING ARTIST POSITIONS
VSA Vermont :: Vision. Strength. Access. The State Organization on Arts and Disability Teaching Artist   Vermont  2011-present
Consistently teach in the Start With The Arts program. Design and facilitate a dynamic , inclusive 16 week arts-based literacy program.  Mentor and train adult childcare providers to implement SWTA program. Teach workshops throughout state at conferences and centers. Inventor and facilitator of Arts to Smarts, graduate level teaching artist course, in partnership with VSA VT and Howard Center Baird School. Artist-in-Residence at Howard Center Baird School since 2014 collaborating with staff to integrate art into the curriculum using a Universal Design framework to engage the highly reluctant and reactive learners. 

MiddCORE Program Mentor, Middlebury College   2012-present
Design and facilitate workshops on creativity, ideation/prototyping, and visual communication. 

Open Studio Project Group Facilitator Evanston, IL   2009-2011
Was asked to be a facilitator, completed facilitator-in-training and mentorship program. Facilitated “connecting with the creative process” and community outreach workshops.

North Shore Academy Therapeutic High School Artist-in-Residence, IL   2011
Designed and facilitated a sculpture workshop for kids in crisis to gain creative empowerment. Educated art department on process-oriented work with a writing component and how to set up their space to be a functional art studio for youth.

St. Mary's Elementary School Art Educator, VT   2004-2006
Awarded teacher of the year in 2006
Designed and implemented art curriculum for the school, grades K-6.

Wasatch Academy High School Integrated Art Educator Mount Pleasant, UT  1995-2000
Designed and taught college preparatory studio art and art history courses. Tasked with integrating art throughout school-wide curriculum. Dorm parent, coach, ran outdoor leadership trips in boarding school setting.

Janus Project Mentor, NC   1994-1995
Hired to help socialize a group of teen boys that were expelled from school. The most successful tool I used for achieving this goal was art making in a group setting.

Morgan School Art Department Head, Coach and Outdoor Leader Lenoir, NC   1993-1994
Designed and implemented art curriculum and co-designed outdoor leadership program grades 8-12. Dorm parent and coach in residential setting.
