Teaching Artist Arts Integration Facilitator she/her 802-249-2815 [email protected] Lisa is a practicing visual artist with experience in a variety of mediums. She has dedicated 20+ years of her career to teaching art for the support of learning, empowering individuals, and building community. She is an avid participant in professional development to keep her sensibility fresh and current with the needs of our world. Lisa believes everyone has a voice that is worthy of being heard and expressed visually. The root of her teaching approach cultivates a safe environment for creative expression, driving inquiry, promoting self-advocacy, developing creative capacity, and focuses on the inclusion of all learners. Lisa has a variety of classroom teaching experience engaging students from pre-school age through adulthood within college, K-12, therapeutic and museum settings. In addition to her fine arts training, she holds a certificate of art therapy. Lisa designs and implements art residencies, community murals, creative placemaking, "Meet Me" museum work for adults with dementia, and workshops for educators. Recent residencies include Middlebury College The Knoll and The Howard Center Baird School, provided through an eight year ongoing partnership with Inclusive Arts Vermont. She designed and developed the successful Inclusive Arts Vermont Collaborative Intergrated Arts curriculum used for engaging reluctant and reactive learners. She is also a Teaching Artist Fellow for the Community Engagement Lab Creative Schools Initiative and most recently finished her role as Director of Arts at Longview School- "Reinventing education one child at a time", in Brewster, NY. Lisa thrives on working creatively with students, and collaborating with other educators and artists. |
